Store operators play a key role in improving energy efficiency and protecting resources in the shopping center. After all, they can have a major impact on the shopping center’s total energy consumption by managing their sales areas in an energy-efficient manner, for example. Since the end of 2015, all new leases have been what we refer to as green lease agreements. In this agreement, the company and its tenant partners commit themselves to meeting sustainable criteria. The agreements include requirements for the use of fit-out and refurbishment materials as well as provisions governing energy-efficient operation of the space.
